Wilson Craig passes away
The bond between Endurance and Real Road Racing is closely knit and with that in mind EWC-Mag.com regretfully has to report on the death of Wilson Craig.
The Northern Irish team owner has suddenly died this morning, September 4th2019, his family reports on Facebook.
The statement reads like follows:
It is with the deepest sadness that I must announce the passing of my father, Wilson Craig, this morning. The suddenness of this event has left our family both heartbroken and lost.
He will be remembered as a kind, gentle and generous man, with a passion for motorcycle racing that never dimmed. The sport brought him so much happiness over the years, and we hope that his involvement in the community was able to share some of this joy.
His family love him, and miss him terribly.
The Craig Family
Wilson Craig was part of the Honda Racing team at this year’s Isle of Man TT – the same squad, that operated the #111 Honda Endurance Racing team in the World Endurance.
After this year’s postponements due to bad weather conditions, we joked to ask Wilson Craig: „You are the only person in the paddock to have attended every single TT since its invention in 1907 – have you ever seen such bad weather here?“ The laughter that had been shared afterwards will remain for ever – as will the person, team manager and racing lover Wilson Craig in person.
